Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Express Las Vegas-Nellis

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Their staff was great.
Out of the way for many things in Vegas.

We liked this hotel. Our business extended a second night to we rebooked another night through express deals and got the same hotel. The hotel would not let use rebook at the same rate so we went back through Priceline. We were glad to get Holiday Inn Express. I definitely disagree with the bad reviews given by two other clients, one of whom did not even stay there. Our business ran past check out time and last check out was no problem. Loved the fresh cookies at check in! ...read more

This was the cleanest hotel that I have stayed at in multiple years, and I stay at a lot of hotels.
The location is out of the way unless you are doing something at the air force base.

I was very pleased with this hotel. I was concerned after I got the hotel through express deals and read the reviews. Someone even posted that they made reservation and didn't stay there because it was in 'such a bad neighborhood'. This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed at in years (including several 4 and 5 star hotels). Someone else mentioned a homeless person in the parking lot. I guess they have never been on the Las Vegas Strip. My family and I felt very comfortable at the hotel. No homeless people in the parking lot but someone form Montana did have his sled dog truck parked in the parking lot (there dogs were very well behaved) I went for a run in the neighborhood, and my kids 17 and 14 walked up the street to McDonalds. The staff was great. They were very friendly. We loved the fresh cookies at check in. ...read more

Nice bathroom and shower area. Easy parking. Free breakfast. No resort fee. The room seemed clean. Lots of soap, shampoo, and towels available. TV channels were in HD.
I would have liked the machines for the juices (apple, orange, etc) to work at least until noon. They were shut off at 9:30am when the free breakfast ended. At least they had carton milk and some yogurt available when I arrived at 10:30am.

I was happy with my stay at this hotel. The only downside is the location. If you're going to be doing things in this area then it's probably the best hotel you'll find. I went to the Nascar Truck race so I decided to stay here for two nights because the racetrack is only a couple of miles away. The hotel is right next to the Nellis Air Force base. The area itself isn't great. There is a mobile home park right behind the hotel and one morning when I was going out to my car there was a homeless guy looking for change on the ground in the parking lot. But it's not like you're going to go for a walk in this area since there's not much to walk to. Maybe the corner gas station or the McDonalds or the Walmart. That's about it. I noticed a LaQuinta Inn down the street but the problem with that LaQuinta Inn is that you can only enter their parking lot from one side of the street which is very inconvenient. So if you're deciding between the Holiday Inn and the LaQuinta Inn I'd recommend the Holiday Inn since you can easily enter the hotel if you're driving on either side of the street. If you're going to stay here you'll need a rental car. It's about a 35 minute drive to the Bellagio on the Strip. I liked the decor in the public areas of the hotel and there was plenty of seating by the breakfast area. I especially liked the decor of the bathroom and shower. Lots of towels and soaps provided along with a hair dryer and a coffee maker. The room also had a fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV. An in-room safe was in the closet but you had to get the key for it from the front desk. And the sign said if you lose the key there is a $25.00 fee. The closest major casino is the Cannery which is West on Craig Road across the highway. About a 10 minute drive, but it's a nice casino. There's more restaurants around that casino including a 24-hour Sonic, Five Guys, Chipotle, and more. I would definitely consider this Holiday Inn Express again if my planned activities were in the area. ...read more
