Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hilton Newark Penn Station

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

With my family, we need to book two rooms. This hotel was a perfect combination of affordability and convenience to NYC.

This hotel was affordable and an easy walk/subway ride into NYC. Inexpensive parking is available in the area (1 block), so we avoided the hotel lot and saved a lot more. The hotel staff was friendly and quick on check-in, and switched things around so we could have two adjacent rooms for our big family. They were friendly and helpful when we needed directions. It didn't matter who we interacted with at the hotel, they were all top-notch. The rooms have a nice desk and all the networking you need to get some work done. We live in Boston and this seems like a really nice and affordable way for me to come down with family for a trip into Manhattan a couple of times a year. ...read more

I enjoyed the excellent location and the staff was great!
The parking was not the best, especially outside alongside Market Street!

Right next to Penn Station - helpful staff - free shuttle service made it easy to get to and from airport - however, it is hard to know when the shuttle is coming as you can't call them directly from the shuttle pick up spot
Shuttle times to / from airport

There wasn't a whole lot to eat around the hotel - accross the street is penn station which had some food, but overall, it was slim pickings - or somethings did seem to be closed - we did find a GREAT bbq house close by called Dinosaur BBQ.

Hotel was in a good location for easy access to NYC and other part of Northern Jersey. Staff was friendly. Room was nice and updated. Bathroom was a bit small but not really problematic. Bed was really comfortable!
The hotel is ideal for business trips as many of the local retailers/shops close down on the weekends.

Overall, the hotel was nice. Check in/out was a breeze. Staff was helpful in giving directions and restaurant recommendations. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

It was right in the center of town, very close to where we had to go (Rutgers Univ.)
Very rough neighborhood. Lots of very shady characters hanging around in the lobby and outside the building. Also, I didn't anticipate having to pay $21 to park for just a few hours. This pretty much negated the good rate I got.

The room was very basic. No charm, no non-essential amenities. One chair (the desk chair), and very little room to maneuver. It was clean enough, but we came in late, slept a few hours, and left early in the morning, so we couldn't really tell. As I mentioned, $21 a night to park. I guess if you have to be downtown Newark, this place might be as good as any, but if I ever find myself having to be in Newark again, I'll look elsewhere. ...read more

The desk staff was excellent but the other staff were average or below.
The schedule of the shuttle to the airport.

If you are planning to get back and forth to the airport this is not the hotel for you with a shuttle schedule that is not convenient for the traveler.
