Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hilton New Orleans/St. Charles Ave. French Quarter Area

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Hotel Restaurant.
Valet parking - very poor customer service skills and expensive-$43.00/night. Hotel has no parking area.

Excellent location if you are planning to be most of the time in the downtown area.

The location was great. The staff was very helpful and curtious.
I could hear the TV next door more than the average hotel. I am not sure if they had the volume up louder then normal. I did see more older folks.

The location was great - walking distance to everything! The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful!
Strong smell of fish in the foyer by elevators on ground floor. I think the smell was from the restaurant next door, but it made me feel like I was in a seafood market.

Unlike every other hotel I have booked through Priceline, this hotel did not charge me for the room at the time of ordering. They had preauthorized the amount, but the final charge didn't go through. Therefore, I wasn't expecting to have to pay upon arrival. The rooms aren't big, though they are typical Downtown New Orleans size rooms. Bed was incredibly comfortable, and room was very clean. Shower was FABULOUS! We had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River from our room as well. The staff is the friendliest of any hotel I have ever been to. ...read more

Traveling with 4 grandchildren we enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub,
When making the reservation we asked for 2 adjoining rooms with an access door between the two rooms. The request was made again eight hours before arrival. We did not get our request.

very helpful staff.
No self parking but considering downtown location across from the French Quarter, it is understandable

The hotel was conveniently located in the heart of downtown and minutes away from the French quarters.
We had reserved 3 rooms. 1 room did not have working heater so the staff exchanged another room, even that room's heater was not working so they provided a stand alone space heather. This is pathetic! We did not expect this type of service from "The Hilto

1. The hotel has a sort of a weired moldy smell to it once you enter. It hits you every time you enter the hotel. Also one of the three rooms we reserved did not have a functional room heating. Staff moved us to a new room and same problem so they provided us a space heather. I would have been okay if this would have happened in a motel or any other cheaper branded hotel but not Hilton. Come Hilton, you have to improve the quality of the rooms. Bottom line - the hotel is not clean and nice enough for us to go there the second time. We may try the Courtyard by Marriott or the one opposite to the Hilton next time. ...read more
