Welcome to the Hampton Inn Traverse City
A delicious free breakfast, an indoor pool and nearby beaches are reasons why the Hampton Inn Traverse City is one of the most popular area hotels with Priceline guests.
An elegant dark wood trim distinguishes this four-story hotel, where all 125 non-smoking rooms feature a desk and premium showerhead; some accommodations offer kitchenettes and jetted tubs. Free high-speed internet keeps you in the loop while you're away from home. Wake up and feast on the free hot breakfast buffet served each morning. Then work up a sweat in the fitness center or hunker down in the business center with complimentary printing. Wind down the day with a dip in the indoor pool and hot tub or a tipple in the lobby lounge. Grab the complimentary shuttle from the airport or park on-site for free.
Nestled among the shops and restaurants on Front Street, the Hampton Inn is located less than half-a-mile from the sandy beach at Bryant Park. Walk one block to the Great Lakes Campus of Northwestern Michigan College and one mile west to jog along the Traverse Area Recreation Trail. Walk 15 minutes to check out the Dennos Museum Center or head one mile to the heart of downtown to check out the historic City Opera House or the marina. Drive 20 minutes north up the peninsula to visit the Old Mission Lighthouse that's smack on the 45th Parallel or head 45 minutes west to climb the wall of sand at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Cherry Capital Airport is three miles away.
Priceline guests report that the Hampton Inn is "super clean, stylish and comfortable" and offers "excellent breakfast selections."

Despite its location across the street from the beach, none of the rooms face that way and all just look on parking lots or abandoned lot.

It wasn't the hotel itself, but there were guests across the hallway, who were apparently on a Bachelorette Party I guess, and they were making so much noise, with their two rooms next to each other and they were even talking loud on the hallway, with the doors open. First time ever in my life that I had to call the the front desk to ask them to quiet down, so I could get a restful night. The manager was very courteous about handling it. Although the hotel is close to the beach, there is pretty much nothing to do in the area. ...

Overall not bad for the price but nothing great. The location was not as ideal as I though after looking on the map, it looked more centrally located than it was although that's really more my mistake. Other than the smokers out front the staff was nice and friendly. Room was clean and the cleaning staff did a good job refreshing the room. Pretty good quality bath products and the shower, although cramped, was nice and hot. My biggest issue by far was the bed. Very uncomfortable as it was stiff and bouncy. Every time one of us would move in our sleep we would wake each other up because the bed bounced badly. Not a bad stay, just not great. Next time I'm in town I will likely pay a little more and stay at a nicer place closer to downtown. ...

My only concern/complaint is its location on such a busy road that even walking on the sidewalk along side the road seems dangerous. Since it is across from the lake it is especially nice to be able to cross the road but getting to the cross walk is intimidating and a little scary.
