Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hampton Inn Garden City

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

I expected a better room it wasn't exactly what I was promised in my reservation
Yes that my room would not have been what I was told by priceline

Make sure you contact the hotel it self because some time pricelines makes mistakes with the room size and space available at the hotel

The location was perfect for our needs.
Upon entering the room, we could smell smoke. We had asked for a smoke-free room. There was an ash tray and matches on the bed stand. The bed was uncomfortable.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel was okay for what we needed it for...a place to sleep and shower. We didn't spend a lot of time there. If you are looking for a romantic get away, this is not the place for that. It is strictly a functional place. The breakfast was adequate. The juice was watered down. The coffee was good. I wasn't overly impressed, but not disappointed either. It suited our needs...that's about it. I certainly wouldn't give it 5 stars, maybe 2 or 3. ...read more

Comfy beds, clean room, pleasant public spaces.
I'd like to see more free channels on the TV.

Included breakfast was good. Hotel is very very nice. Staff was very friendly.
The smell in the smoking room.

The hotel is a modern four story building and is decorated quite nicely both inside and out. A breakfast buffet is provided with a variety of items from fresh fruit to oatmeal to eggs, bacon and hash browns. The rooms are decent sized and tastefully decorated. The air conditioning was more than strong enough to keep the room very comfortable. The bathroom was larger than most hotels I have been in. The vanity is in the room with the bath which might cause some delays, but I will definitely stay at this hotel again. ...read more

Decor, cleanliness, and quiet.
Nothing bad to say.

With the 2.5 star rating I was expecting a worn down budget priced hotel with minimum amenities, but upon arrival and entrance, I was dearly impressed with the updated, stylish, quality feel of this budget hotel. The complimentary breakfast was superb with the basic hot/cold morning breakfast and drinks. The entire experience was beyond expectation and it was a few experiences I had where I was sad I didn't stay one extra day longer. ...read more

Was clean and included WiFi, breakfast, free fruit, and friendly staff.

Was close to the beach and price included WiFi, breakfast, and fresh fruit. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. I would stay here again.

Convenience, breakfast, fitness center, and business center.
They insisted I take a smoking room because my reservations didn't specifically say no smoking.

I've stayed at this hotel several times and will return on my next trip to Long Island. Generally, friendly and accommodative staff. It is clean. This time I was disappointed because the one bike in the fitness room was out of order.

I like the free breakfast, and quiet locations.
The curtains were not designed to be shut. So the room could not be fully dark.

Great clean room, with very helpful staff. nice indoor pool. One of the lights was broken in my room, but I didn't find out it existed until the last night (it was behind the TV) The room size was generous (single king)and great for the meeting prep I needed to do, esp the wheel out desk, so I could configure the room to be more convenient.
