Hotel Guest Reviews of the Grand Hotel Baglioni

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The room was really nice!!!

Nice location, the room was quite large and there was a neat little room/closet where luggage could be easily stored.

The hotel itself was great. It was old and classy and in very good condition. The location was very convenient.
The lack of a room for us on the first of two nights. We purchased through Priceline, we arrived as scheduled, and there was no room. The arranged for us to be in another "4*" that was adjacent, but it was absolutely an inferior hotel.

I'm torn about recommending this hotel. I would except that we arrived as scheduled and they had no room for us - and we had already purchased it in advance through Priceline. Contacting Priceline for our money back is a useless option: even if we immediately got it, then we have our money and can either pay through the teeth walking in to some other place off the street or sleep in a cardbox box. We wanted a good room with certain amenities at a good price, which is exactly what we'd paid for. The hotel very quickly (too quickly) arranged for us a room at an adjacent 4* - the Boscolo Hotel Astoria. When we got to the Astoria, the room was rough way beyond normal wear and the service was somewhere between inhospitable and actually rude. On arrival, they seemed very familiar (too familiar) with us people having been sent over from the Baglioni. We stayed there one night and decided to return to the Baglioni for the second night. It was great. Great service, room, breakfast, wifi, location,... One can never know, but the very clear sense that I got was that the two hotels have an arrangement (or are co-owned?). The Astoria deservedly gets much lower ratings online than the Baglioni (Baglioni is #126 on Trip Advisor - unjustifiably low based on our night actually there - whereas the Astoria is #235 of 465 hotels). When the Baglioni is able to fill itself otherwise, could it effectively act as a booking service for the Astoria for bargain online bookings like ours? There were numerous tour buses unloading in front of the Baglioni when we arrived... I'd go back to the Baglioni if I knew I could actually stay there, but I don't know if I'd take the chance of paying to stay at this place and getting the Astoria. ...read more

The location was great and the rooms had old world charm.
On Saturday night, they did have some sort of disco party that was thumping through the ceiling until late at night. Didn't really seem like a party type of hotel so that was a bit unexpected.

This hotel was great. One of the best hotels I stay in throughout my trip.
Bartender kept disappearing when we were relaxing in the lobby area.

I was a bit worried after reading some of the other comments regarding noise, but I did not experience this. I highly recommend this hotel, old world charm with all the amenities. Breakfast was great and included with the room.

Atmosphere and location.
Can't think of a thing.

We had just left a tour of 5* hotels. Hotel Baglioni rivaled the best we saw or stayed at. It really was perfect. Get off the train take the main exit look to the right and you'll see the hotel a city block away. Take the underpass and it opens up literally at the front door. Be sure to take in the view or eat on the roof top.
