Hotel Guest Reviews of the Gran Melia Golf Resort Puerto Rico

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great room, great beach and pool.
Check in time is 4 pm, too late.

Nice pool area. Right on the beach, even if it had a red flag warning, you could enjoy a nice walk and tan a little. Nice place to get away and relax.
Location: There's no nightlife at or near the hotel (boring at night). As for dining, you are constrained to the hotel restaurants, since the nearest option outside the place is almost 15 mins away. Drinks at bars are pricey. Rooms, far from main building

It depends on the purpose of your visit. If you are looking for a place to "retreat", away from the San Juan area and you don't mind limiting your dining options to the hotels restaurants and bars, which could be a little pricey, you might like this hotel. It has a nice pool area, but rooms are a little far from it and the main building (up to almost a mile and golf cart rides are not constant). The hotel is right on the beach, but with a red flag warning because of the currents. There's no nightlife at or near the hotel, just some DJ at the main building's bar, do it could get boring. Overall, I recommend this hotel for a weekend retreat, no more than that. ...read more

The hotel has beautiful grounds and the public spaces ie lobby and common areas were nicely decorated for Christmas.
This is a resort. During this time if the year it wasn't 't very full. As a result many of the features were closed such as not all restaurants were open, the pool bar and grill was closed. I would have rather stayed at a regular hotel.

The public spaces are spacious and relaxing. The pool is large and has a real resort feel to it. The room was large with marble floors that continued into the bathroom's sink and tub. Everything was clean and the grounds are lovely and well maintained.
The room had a strong humid/ mildew smell that detracted from our overall impression of the hotel. The maintenance of the hotel itself could be a little better, paint was chipped and some upholstery was in need of a refresh.

The room was comparitively big and the grounds are large and immaculate---had the feel of a Bali resort
Prices were outrageous. Food was terrible. Zero to do after sunset.

I loved the outdoor spaces. The pool and grounds were amazing and the beach couldn't have been better!
The room was tired. For a 4 star resort the room was old. The couch needed to be replaced and the furnishing definitely had some wear.

Check-in/check-out was too slow. Some of the staff could not communicate in English efficiently. Room cleaning not prompt
