Hotel Guest Reviews of the Gateway Inn & Cabins

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The cabin, from the outside is adorable. And it is right at the entrance of the park. You can see it from the cabin. And the fridge worked great.
The inside was a whole different story!70's furnishings, dirty shag carpet, left over flip flops of the previous tenant. AND THE MATTRESS was the WORSE I have ever slept on! Woke at least 10 times, my legs were asleep and hips killing me. WORST EVER.

You have a TV, but it is clear across the room and is old and 13" screen (if that big). There is a satellite dish for the TV's at the hotel, but ONLY ONE and it controls ALL of them, therefore you have to watch what channel they have chosen in the office. This would be a great hotel - but they need to update it a bit and get NEW MATTRESSES. I could live without the TV - but New carpet and beds would completely turn the place around. Was not worth the $--- that we spent to stay there 1 night. I needed a goon night sleep based on the hikes we were doing the next day - and I did not get it in this room. ...read more

It was very near the entrance of Mt. Ranier and the price is the lowest in the area.
There's not enough counter space in the bathroom. The shower pressure is weak and water temperature is not consistent. The sink faucets are reversed, i.e., hot water on the right instead of the left.

It's convenient that the inn has a restaurant and a souvenir/convenience store.

The cabins are literally on the doorstep of Ranier NP. Spectacular setting! You're right in the forest! Very picturesque! Store and restaurant on the premisis.
Room was smallish. No place to put your suitcases. Beds were on the hard side and one of them squeaked quite a bit when you rolled over. Internet was not good at our cabin. Could have used some nice chairs to sit outside.

We stayed in a cabin without a kitchen, so I don't know what the other cabins are like. Had a microwave and fridge. Cabins are old, which I don't mind at all, but just know that if you are really picky or are expecting 4-5 star ratings, this place is probably not for you. But if you want to be near the park, and be surrounded by beauty and are not afraid of rustic, this place is wonderful! Owner was very nice and friendly. We ate at the restaurant one night. Mostly burgers, but it wasn't bad. They do offer breakfast also. Small store also, but not a place to buy groceries, so I'd bring food for your cabin with you. But drinks, snacks and alcoholic beverages available as well as other items. Cable tv for those of you who like to keep up with your favorite shows at night. Parking right in front of your cabin. It took us less than a minute to walk to the entrance of the park, it was fantastic!! I would definitely stay here again, but probably get a cabin with a kitchen and a fireplace. ...read more

Best location and convenient to hiking, skiing and fishing.
Location was excellent and close to Mount Rainier National Park.

Our family stayed in the log cabin for 2 nights. My kids loved and enjoyed every minute. Cabin was clean and comfortable. It was furnished and had warm heater and fresh "Rainier Water". The cabin had fireplace where we roasted smores bought from their grocery store & espresso and breakfast at the cafe. They provided fresh towels and blankets for a great family vacation around this inspiring national park. It is located just outside the entrance, visible from the cabin. Highly recommend staying. ...read more

Nice location, didn't like the sound of mice in the walls. The wiring was a little scary, I'm sure it violates alot of building codes, someone should check the place out for violations.

The hotel is located just outside of the entryway to Mt. Rainier National Park near a park shuttle stop.
Health issue: Mold! Directly on heavily traveled main hwy. Horribly uncomfortable beds.No kitchenette as described.

The bathroom floor was slippery with the improperly rinsed cleaning solutions used to clean with(nearly fell upon entry). Mattress consisted of foam rubber on squeaky wire framed bed. Super loud squeaks came out of any small movement. Foam topper slipped 6" off the bed by morning. Sheets were so thin you could see though them. Garbage scattered on ground under the window we had to open due to the mold problem. Worst night we've ever spent in a hotel/motel. Still sick from the mold exposure and still hurting from the lousy bed aggravating an old back injury. Although there was a restaurant attached we did not eat at it; figuring if they didn't clean mold off the bathroom walls they wouldn't clean the kitchen either. ...read more
