Hotel Guest Reviews of the Gabriel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Easy to find.
The small print in the booking indicated that a cot was available at a small fee for a child. Upon arrival we were informed that cots were not available and that we were obligated to get a second room for our 6 yr old doubling our hotel expense.

The small print in the booking indicated that a cot was available at a small fee for a child. Upon arrival we were informed that cots were not available and that we were obligated to get a second room for our 6 yr old doubling our hotel expense. The hotel was not very sympathetic to the problem and blamed Pricelines information for being misleading.

The room was clean
The girl working at the front desk was not very nice or helpful and the night staff spent more time outside smoking and talking with friends then working. There was no small fridge in the room to keep drinks cool and the wifi was terrible!

Our rooms were clean but very small and the bathroom was tiny. The elevator was extremely slow and tiny, two people with bags was the max it could hold. Although the hotel is a ten minute walk to the metro, the motel is pretty far from the city center and all of the sights. We spent way too much time on the metro getting places. There is nothing around the hotel area to do and only fair restaurants or cafe's. We did feel safe walking to and from the metro and while we were in the hotel. ...read more

The staff were exceptionally friendly and spoke very good English (which we appreciated after our long trek to get there!) We were delighted to find a Sunday market at the metro stop nearest the hotel with fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and baked goods.
The WiFi internet was shaky at best and frequently booted us offline. Even though the windows had excellent sound proofing, we found the walls between the floors and ceilings to be a bit thin and one night, we could hear folks beneath us laughing and talk

If you're looking for a cost-effective lodging option in a nice neighborhood readily accessible by metro and don't mind not staying in Paris proper, this hotel is an excellent choice.

The rooms/beds comfortable; hotel staff v helpful; was well priced; near metro..
Lift didn't always work; on city limits of Paris, not in Paris; breakfast was overpriced.

We booked this in advance of our first trip to Paris based on the price, proximity to the Metro and photos online. The photos online are a good indication of what the hotel is actually like. The hotel is located in a suburban part of Paris (not in Paris, but on the southern city limits). The closest Metro station is about a 3-4 minute walk (it's called Corentin Celton on line 12 - make sure you know that before you try to find it or you might get lost like we did). They charge 10 euro each for breakfast, but I wouldn't pay for it - it's not worth it. Wait until you go into Paris, or there's a market near the Metro stop on weekends where you can buy something. The room was small but clean and comfortable; we had a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower from our 6th Floor room, which was nice. The hotel staff was very nice, especially the overnight clerk.

Very convenient and close to metro. Staff are very outstanding.
Room are kind of small.

It is a very good option if you are looking for a low budget stay in Paris.

Price/value was reasonable
A/C did not work

This hotel would have been good value for the money if the A/C in our room worked. We were upset that the front office put us in a room which they knew has a malfunctioning A/C in the middle of a heat wave. After we requested a replacement room they offered us a room which was not large enough to accommodate our children. Also note: There is no parking so you need to take your chances parking on the street. ...read more

Convenient location and the price was right it had air conditioning
The room smelled of smoke and was tiny, there was mold in the washroom, security is lax, the elevator is scray, the staff were not attentive

The room smelled of smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room and was tiny. You could barely walk around the bed to get to the other side. There was severe mold in the washroom. Security was lacking: You have to leave your key at the front when you leave (they have them on really heavy key chains so you don't leave with them) and when I returned from my dinner, there was a new attendent at the front desk. I walked up to him, told him that I was in room 15, he didn't check my ID or even ask my name and just handed me the key. Just like that. Anyone could have asked for the room key to my room and stolen my items from it and the front desk would not even know it. The elevator is tiny and scray. The staff were not attentive, argumentative and they just looked plain bored. ...read more
