Hotel Guest Reviews of the Fess Parkers Doubletree Resort

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The hotel has pleasant grounds and is in a great location across the street from the oceanfront. It has easy access to State Street and the Santa Barbara Bowl and other attractions in the area.
No free wifi in the rooms, the parking fee add-on is annoying as the hotel is surrounded by a huge parking lot and you have to drive to your room because the hotel is so spread out.

The hotel was generally friendly and accommodating, and the room spacious and clean. I don't know why hotels greet you with $7 bottles of water in the room however- it is a very unwelcoming gesture and guests would be far more impressed by the hotel if they offered a couple of free water bottles on arrival. There is a nice large pool area with cocktail service, but the pool was full of little kids so is perhaps more of a family friendly hotel than romantic getaway. The King room was quite large and had a separate seating area that was quite nice. If you really want a good view, you probably need to go with an ocean view room- we had a mountain view room, but you had to look over the parking lot and to the side to have a nice view of the mountains from the balcony. ...read more

The hotel is located across the street from the beach and walking distance from food and entertainment.
Rooms need some updating.

Hotel is pricey but worth it. Pool is nice and the staff was great.

Great location
This hotel is definitely more like a 3 star, not a 4 star. There were no 4 star amenities in my opinion. The entire property was old, weathered, and outdated.

My room had a broken sliding door, the sofa smelled like FEET, the shower curtain was torn, the ceiling had a messily drilled hole (yes, HOLE)... I could go on and on! Internet is also NOT free. Food/beverage service at the pool was slow and we had to call the front desk to bring towels to the pool area. If you are looking for a luxurious romantic getaway, this is definitely NOT the place. ...read more

Dog friendly with great location
Nope

What a great hotel! I can't say enough good to properly represent how wonderful this property is and what a spectacular experience we had during our recent stay. First of all- it's dog friendly and although I didn't travel with my furry child, I certainly will in the future. It was well set-up for dogs and it's just so nice to have happy pets around! In addition, the location can't be beat- right across the street from the beach and walking distance to everything else. And what's more, the staff was superb! From the valet, to the bellman, to the front desk at check-in, at every step I was treated like a VIP. Our housekeeper was attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Our server at the RoundHouse brunch was exceptional! We will definitely return to the Fess Parker DoubleTree! ...read more
