Hotel Guest Reviews of the Fairfield Inn Chambersburg

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Valuewise this is the best hotel I've stayed at. The rooms were large and clean; the staff (front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast area) were very welcoming. The indoor pool and hot tub are a plus, especially if staying to ski at WhiteTail 15 miles away.
One minor item- the indoor pool area floor was slippery in a few spots. Maybe they could put down a friction pool tile of some sort to prevent falls. This is why I gave them a 9/10 instead of 10/10 form Public spaces.

The breakfast was a full breakfast. In addition to pastries, coffe, milk, fruit, cereals, and 4 juices (orange, apple, cranberry, and grape) - they also have egg and meat sandwiches you can microwave.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Free breakfast and not charge for internet. Convenient and just off highway.
Floors in public areas and bathrooms needed swept. Pool and hot tub could have been cleaner (a few bugs and dirt)

Average to above-average hotel for the price. Amenities were good, just would have preferred a little bit cleaner. The staff and breakfast were great.

The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay nice.
Lots of truck noise.

The hotel was comfortable, very clean, and very convenient. The staff was outstanding.

Super front desk staff. Super clean facility.
The mattress was hard for my taste.

Had a great experience. The front desk staff was knowledgeable about the area. Quite helpful with suggestions and directions. Made me feel right at home. Housekeeping: room started off in great condition! I left personal item on the bed so the maid left me a note as to why no serviced. I moved my items and the staff cheerfully came back to make bed - with turn down service AND chocolate mints! Easy access right off of interstate. Good signage. Would readily stay again. Great Job!!! ...read more

convenient to I-81, comfortable beds/bedding, typical free breakfast - pretty crowded, some variety in foods.

Clean, moderate price (75 + tax = 92).
Refusal of staff to switch us (3 people) to a room with 2 beds.

When I reserved the room through Priceline, I had no opportunity to specify the room configuration (# and size of beds); that's not unusual and by default the reservation was for 1 king bed. In the past, I've been able to ask for 2 smaller beds to accommodate 3 of us (my wife, grown son, me). At this hotel, the check-in staff told me that because I booked online, I could not switch to a different room (seems bizarre). Instead, they would supply a roll-away bed. They brought it up and left it outside the room while we were at dinner. Once it was in the room, there was almost no floor space left. Is the refusal of Fairfield to move us because we booked online a new policy? An attempt for us to offer to pay more for a different room? If it was because they had no other room available, the staff didn't say so. She said she had no ability to make the switch on a reservation made online. She said I could go online and ask for a different room, but that showed she doesn't understand the way Priceline reservations work (at least when bidding). ...read more

Chelsea at the front desk - a very lovely person to work with!
It didn't seem as updated as the Hampton Inn across the road, where our friend was staying.

There seemed to be some mix-up with our room when we got there - our reservation was in the system with the correct name but filed with a Mastercard (I paid with Visa on Priceline). There was also a roll-away bed in our room, which was odd. Aside from that, our stay was nice. We missed breakfast in the morning, due to a late night, but enjoyed the pool area, which was nice and sunny in the morning. Chelsea at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly! She was fantastic and even remembered me from when I had called the night before. ...read more

We was very impressed with cleanliness of the room and the staff. The breakfast lay out was very impressing. We would stay there again.
no. Everything was just fine.

The only thing that was troubling was the driveway entrance to the Hotel. The entrance was very difficult to find to enter the Hotel.

That it was available at a discount rate during a major holiday. Located right next to highways, dining, and other hotel options.
The staff was inexperienced, inattentive, and poorly trained. Distance to nearby attractions 25-30 minutes away.

Quality and service have taken a downturn at this venue. Room was not fully cleaned upon check-in, staff has apparent high-turnover rate, and are not well-trained. Blamed conditions on hotel being fully booked. Room was at ground level with busy foot traffic right outside window. Common access pool was filthy from over-use and not cleaned. Would not put children in the water at all - pool sliding doors were blocked from opening fully by bolts on track (fire escape hazard). Overall stay: would not recommend re-booking any visit. ...read more
