Hotel Guest Reviews of the Days Inn And Suites Upper Sandusky

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Pool was warm and had large steps and shallow end that my children could touch on their own.
Hotel advertised a hot tub but it was out of order.

Location and it had a nice pool for the kids to swim.
The Continental Breakfast did not stay open as long as they said it would. I went to breakfast at 9am and they already put the food away.

The staff were wonderful, and all very friendly and accomodating.
I would have sworn that I requested a Non smoking room, but some-how ended up with a smoking one. My other half is asmatic so we couldn't have a smoking room, and they didn't have any King's available. I had to pay an upgrade fee to get two queen beds.

All in all, the hotel is totally what you pay for. Upper Sandusky isn't the most happening of towns, and the nearest big city is at least an hour away. However, if you are heading to Cedar point, and don't mind an hour drive - This is your place! Rooms are tidy, but could be better kept (I found a few cob webs in the room.) Staff is very friendly and they have a great continental breakfast! Main areas are well kept, but you can smell the smoke from the smoking room in the hallways. We had a bit of a snafu where I thought I had requested a Non-Smoking room, but the reservation had been made for a smoking room. Clerk indicated that there was no King Non-Smoking available, as they were booked (Although I didn't ever see more than 5 cars in the parking lot.), and I had to pay an upgrade fee to get a non-smoking two queen bedroom for my other half and myself. The hotel itself is older, and some of the bedclothes that were used were worn and fraying. The rooms come equipped with a fridge and microwave, and also have a desk and free wi-fi. Again, totally got what I paid for, a nice, semi-safe place for my other half and I to stay. If you're looking for something less pricy, and don't mind a drive a larger town for something to do, go here! ...read more

The room was very clean. The furniture was modern and in good condition. The king size bed had 5 pillows. That was the best. Also, the water pressure at the sink and shower was great.
The motel could have an outside patio or seating area.

The staff was friendly and polite. The rooms were clean with a good working air conditioner. There was plenty of space to put your luggage. Also, coffee pot/coffee and hair dryer provided. The king bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The hallways and vending area was always vacuumed and clean. The motel, also, provided a washer and dryer in the vending area. The indoor pool was a nice size and well maintained. ...read more

Helpful staff, knew about the short comings of this property, but
did not
have adequate maintenance capability to keep up with everything that was going wrong.
Lack of maintenance showed in many areas in room, facility, and in breakfast area. Room. Microwave set to 89 minutes, could not change it! Keys, Reset, Clock did
not respond. Pulled the plug to stop the microwave from overheating.

Manager tried, but obviously did not have adequate maintenance staff to keep up with problems in this facility. Adequate
one star
or so motel (with what was working). Did not use pool, but seemed
OK except for cement stains on the bottom that looked unsightly, but probably were not a problem. Bottom of pool needs painting. I would say this was a one and a half star Motel. ...read more

The front desk receptionist was very accomodating to meet our wishes.
There were numerous old TVs in one of the auxiliary hallways evidently awaiting disposal. Gave a feeling of being a "cheap" hotel.

Would stay at this hotel again. Well worth the price. Didn't expect it to be a "honeymoon" hotel.

Friendly staff, very clean.
Hallway smelled of smoke.

Walked into a very classy lobby to check in. Staff, a man and a woman, were extremely gracious and helpful. Gave us directions to more restaurant choices in town, and also directions for our next day's travel. The hallway smelled heavily of smoke, but our room did not. The next morning the smell was gone, could tell an odor eliminator was used. That was good on their part. Breakfast choices were limited, but I saved probably $25 by not having to buy breakfast for my family. I would definitely go back to this facility. ...read more

Windows leaked when it rained, handicap shower was broken, outside door did not have key lock. Also, the internet computer that is in the lobby was not.

This was sadly the first and last time I will stay there. It rained pretty hard that day and water poured in and leaked all over the floor. The handicap adjustable shower was taped in place. So if I was handicapped it would be useless. Most of the outside doors had key card locks, but one of them had no lock at all..not really safe. Also, the internet computer that is in the lobby was not in service while I was there. ...read more
