Hotel Guest Reviews of the Cliff House Inn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location was great. All rooms were ocean view. We could hear the ocean waves at nights. The breakfast was very good, watermelon, milk, juice, egg, green and black tea, coffee, Also it has a restaurant and the foods are very delicious too.
The rooms were old, they need a renovation.

The staff were friendly and helpful. I loved to be there and me and my family have a great time there. We will go at summer there, again.

It was like an east coast beach house landed in Hawaii and transplanted and then was to the west coast. Breakfast was delicious and their outdoor seating was serene. I'm already thinking about the next time I can get away. When I booked it there was no mention that the front desk closed at 10:30. Luckily I called the hotel about something else and they made special arrangements for us. Staff was wonderful! ...read more

Location; the view is breathtaking when you arrive. Listening to the waves crashing is relaxing.....but then the freeway is just on the other side...
It was so sad to see a place with such POTENTIAL not being rennovated.

Everything was great we had a blast i rented 5 rooms each was different and very nice.Staff was all super friendly and great.Dinner was pricey but worth it.The pool was warm and the beach was nice it was low tie so we enjoyed all of it.
no.It was better than i expected.

Every room has a frig so you can bring Drinks and food. This hotel is isolated which makes it a perfect Respite place. It's still close to Ventura and Carpenteria for Shopping,Dinning and exploring.

The view the the only thing you pay for. The hotel is old & they are trying to updaate.
Non- upgraded rooms are terrible. Shower overflows, old, dirty carpet; very basic.

Getting to the hotel if coming from the South is a pain. You must go way out of the way to get there. The staff is very pleasant & try to be helpful. The rooms are below average. You are only paying to have the view.

The location is the best part of the hotel -- great view of the ocean and able to open the window and feel ocean breeze and hear the waves at night. The restaurant was excellent also -- had an amazing dinner there.
Nope, I loved this hotel -- it was great. It was quaint and old fashioned -- if you want a super modern hotel, this is not for you.

The hotel is a little hard to access off of the 101 -- there is construction in the area. There is no crossover exit, so you need to be coming south from Santa Barbara to exit for the hotel. Coming north you have to go past the hotel to Bates Rd. and turn around. The breakfast was great with excellent coffee, hard boiled eggs and pasteries.I didn't know that there was a restaurant downstairs in the evenings -- I was lucky enough to get a reservation the first night and the food was outstanding. In Ventura on the Main St. there is a Natural Cafe restaurant which is outstanding for lunch -- up the street is a little shop that sells items from Britan and the other stores around there offer lots of other fun shopping experiences. ...read more

Magnificent views!
The room desperately needs new window coverings. Both sets of blinds were broken, and the drapes had holes in them everywhere!

Could use an update and repair/renovation

The rooms are adequate, though it could have been cleaner and updated. The on site restaurant had decent food but seemed a bit pricey. Management was polite, restaurant staff could have been a little nicer. I read a lot of reviews on various sites about Cliff House Inn. Our experience wasn't bad, though I will be considering cheaper options next trip. Beautiful setting, it was a nice romantic getaway, but there is only so much to do right there at the Inn as it was on the outskirts of town. Overall, we were glad to have stayed here this trip. ...read more
