Hotel Guest Reviews of the Budget Inn - Tazewell

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Friendly staff
I asked for two double beds for me and my brother but we got a queen and a pull out sofa and the tv was whack!

They really need to upgrade.

Location of this motel is the only remotely positive thing I can say about the Budget Inn.
Non-smoking room, lobby, common areas stink horribly. Bloody box spring cover. No blankets. Microwave dead but screams like exploding. Built-up dirty stains everywhere. Worn holey drapes hang off rod & don't close. No coffee maker. Disinterested owner.

I have stayed in economy-level motels many times in many locations - this is the worst ever. Nasty beyond belief. Took complaints to the owner who said, "This is not the Holiday Inn." Had to ask repeatedly for blankets (he said, "It's too warm for blankets - 32*). Pointed out bloody bed cover and asked that it be changed - surprise! When we returned, the bloody thing was still there! Beds were made right over the blood again! Owner had said, "You want it changed?" Now, why would I not want to be near someone else's blood? (sarcasm) Even though we were locked-in via Priceline, we grabbed our things and got out of there asap. No way we were going to stay there another night. The worst mattresses, so uncomfortable we were literally in pain, plus when you moved, they blew up like an inner tube or pool toy - plastic covers on the mattress inflate & deflate with noise. Huge packing crate of some sort in the lobby added to just looking bad and so did the push lawnmower sitting in the dirt beside the front door (no grass anywhere-only dead plants). Just a very low-class, dirty sty. When I recounted this experience to locals, they thought it had been condemned and closed and were surprised that someone from NJ had moved here and reopened. They said that it was called the h*ll-hole locally. They're right. We're hoping to get a refund from Priceline for the second night. No matter what the room rate, it's not worth it. Go to Abingdon or Bristol or anywhere but don't stay at this dump! ...read more

The hotel seems older. The stairways smelled great but the hallways had a fabreze smell. The hotel was clean. The staff friendly. Ice machnine and refridegator worked. The heat worked REAL well. Bed was comfortable. Lots of outlets for cellphone, IPads.
Other than the smell of the fabreze I really can't complain about the hotel.

The rooms are quite stayable. Somewhat small but adequate. Everything worked. I was glad I had my own hair dryer. I wish there had been a steakhouse nearby. There was a good Mexican resturant about 5 miles away. Gas station conveniently next door for junkfood. Staff very very friendly. Will stay here again if I go through that area again.
