Hotel Guest Reviews of the Budget Inn Express Bismarck

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Nothing!
The atmosphere was not family friendly. Guests and employees of the place looked like they were on alcohol.

If there had been better pictures of this place I would have never booked a hotel there. The place was run down and the lady at the front desk was not professional looked like she had just gotten out of bed and either did not have any teeth or did not have them in. I am so glad I called and canceled the 2nd night because I did not even want my child in this hotel for the 1 night we had to stay there. I was so not impressed with this place it was awful! ...read more

Nothing.
It was absolutely filthy. There were stains all over the seats, carpet and bed. The blinds were broken and covered in grime.

Filthy, poor customer care, loud guests, stained carpets, bed and chairs. The bathroom was disgusting and I would not allow my two year to bathe in the tub as it was stained orange and cracked. Absolutely disgusting room.

Nothing.
Non smoking room and our clothes smelled like smoke when we left.

The bathroom wasn't clean: hair in shower from previous tenant. TV volume didn't work on TV or remote. There were only 2 nonsmoking rooms 1st floor and ours stunk from smoke. Next 2 tracks and trains woke me up in the night 4 times. Air-conditioning vents were filthy with accumulated dusk and grime. Room was beat up with evidence of previous break-in on door frame.

Leaving after 2 nights stay.
Most units occupied by long term residents - we felt uncomfortable in the surroundings.

On the positive side, we were glad to get a room in Bismarck - every other place we checked (i.e., we checked with all other hotels in the Bismarck metro area) was booked solid; and the room was almost half price compared to those other places. On the negative side - based on the price, our expectations weren't high. However, the place was completely different that our expectations. Instead of a motel with one and two night guests, most of the units appear to be occupied by long-term residents, many of whom appear to be struggling. Our contact in Bismarck advised us that several of the units were occupied by people displaced by Katrina who haven't returned to New Orleans. We never felt comfortable, or safe; but didn't have anything bad happen to us. The bed didn't have a headboard, and there was an electrical outlet just above the pillows on one side of the bed. If you sat in bed and leaned back, you were leaning against that outlet. The lamps didn't work, and there were no wastebaskets in the room. No maid service after the first night. ...read more

Nothing It was the worst place ever and would never stay there.
It was filthy disgusting the blinds were falling off the windows and there was no privacy

We looked at 2 rooms the first one was missing a blind and people could see right in the window.. the second room we looked at had something spilled down the walls and that shade was all bent and falling off the window.. It was a really disgusting place to stay and I wouldn't recommend anyone staying there.. we ended up getting a room at the Kelly inn instead..

Not too much noise from other guests. Friendly staff.
Dirty stairwells, dirty parking lot, sink didn't drain.

Not quite sure if 1 star is high enough. Had a scary feeling when pulling in. Seemed a bit like a place for people down on their luck.

Its a older hotel but clean . I would stay there again.

This place is a older hotel but its clean. Our Dog loved it there she could see out the window since it was close to the floor. April who works front desk is very nice and friendly. also the the gal who cleaned out room was very nice. The internet has some problems which isn't the hotels fault.other then that we enjoyed our stay there very much and would stay there again. For the price this place cant be beat. ...read more

The price was low but you do get what you pay for.
Tub was dirty, no shampoo, hairdrier, dirty parking lot and lobby.

If I had not had a reservation and could not cancel without losing my money, I would have hit the gas and kept driving. This was a run down scary motel. The room was better than I expected judging from the lobby, parking lot and other patrons. We went to a movie and dinner, left the TV on (volume NOT turned up-just regular level). When we came back THE TV WAS TURNED OFF! And there was not a timer on it, we did experiment on that. Who and why was someone in our room? Nothing seemed to be missing - but CREEPY! When making reservation, we said 2+ stars but got this 1- place. I have always been extremely satisfied with the rooms we've rented through Priceline, but this one ruined the record. ...read more
