Hotel Guest Reviews of the Britannia International Hotel Canary Wharf

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. The hotel was beautiful, but the stay was awful, the staff was rude and incompetent and there is no parking. Internet was fast, is about the best I can say about it.
No parking except a small underground lot that charges 20+ quid for overnight. The staff was incompetent and rude. The room was not as described. The room was a stifling 26 degrees C when we arrived as well.

AVOID THIS HOTEL!!! If you want a nice view of an L train, incompetent and rude staff and get nickel and dimed for everything (entry to the indoor pool, towels for the pool, and overpriced crappy breakfast, etc) then by all means, stay at this dirtbag hotel. It's beautiful on the outside and inside, but that belies the rude staff and their incompetence. There was a wedding so the small parking lot was filled. The manager's advice was to wake up and move my car (parked 5 blocks away in a residential area) at 2 am after the guests left or to wake up before the meter maids ticket my rental car. Wow, way to serve your guests. We also rented 2 rooms, one of which was supposed to have 2 beds and a couch, to sleep 4 people. We got one bed and a few chairs for 4 people...3 of which were children and they arrived and fell asleep. Considering the lack of help I got with something as simple as a parking spot, we weren't about to even ask about a room change with sleeping kids. This is the worst hotel ever, they ruined our vacation because I had to stay up then wake up early (nice rest, huh) then I was physically restrained from leaving by a mean employee because of the storm that arrived on the 28th. So it was face a parking ticket or get into an altercation with the employee. AVOID THIS DIRTBAG HOTEL!!!! ...read more

Good location, near Underground. The Indian restaurant, Spice, was great!
Liked everything. The waiters removed our plates too quickly while we were eating breakfast.

Good location.
The bed was terribly uncomfortable, the room was hot & the room I booked wasn't available.

I chose the pay when you stay rate vs the cheaper pay in advance option. The hotel immediately charged the full balance of my stay in advance anyhow. I booked a double executive room. I called 2 days in advance to prepay for early (noon) check in. My room was not available when I arrived and I was offered a double 'standard' room instead. I asked how it would be handled since I'd prepaid for a double executive room for which there's obviously a price difference. The front desk clerk got aggravated & kept stating that they couldn't give me a room that's not available. ...read more
