Hotel Guest Reviews of the Best Western Plus St. Christopher Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location of the hotel was great.
I thought because it was considered a "historic" hotel it would feel like that but it didn't. The room had cool exposed brick but that's it. Didn't make up for the whole place being dark and dingy.

It warned us that parts of hotel were "under construction" I just wished that was something that info was given a head of our arrival. The thing that aggravated me most about our stay is that my daughter and I arrived at 5 am because I was sick and could leave when I had planned. Knowing that the front desk call the room at 9:30 am to make sure we were checking out at 12 because a plumber was there waiting to get into that room. Because if the lack of sleep I had, it ruined the entire rest of my day in New Orleans. I personally will never stay here again. ...read more

Merlin the valet driver greeted us every morning by name. He was very friendly and it was a pleasure to converse with him every morning.
The rooms were small and the front desk and house keeping staff was very dishonest. In addition, the front desk manger was out of uniform and did not wear a name tag so that she could be clearly identified.

VERY DISHONEST DESK AND HOUSEKEEPING STAFF!!!! I recently spent the July 4 (Essence Festival Weekend) at this hotel and I will never stay there again. When I first arrive, I was greeted with a smile from Merlin, the friendliest and most personable valet driver I have ever encountered (I travel in and out of the country several times a year). However things quickly turned downhill from there. I was given a dusty room with no windows. When I requested to move, they lied to me and told me no other room was available but I would be moved the next day. I know this was a lie because I was able to look up the room availability online. The next day I returned from the convention center to a room that had not been cleaned because the housekeeper lied and said that there was a do not disturb sign on the door. I do not believe there was even a do not disturb sign in the room because I never saw one. In addition, when I inquired about the room change, the desk clerk looked me in the face and told me that I never asked to change rooms and that there were no rooms available. Another lie because again I was able to look up the room availability online. I didn't bother to argue because they knew they were lying and so did I. I have stayed in several hotels in this city over the years during the Essence Festival and this was my first negative experience. ...read more

walking distance to all places we want to see, good breakfast buffet, good amenities.
we can hear noises from outside particularly @ nighttime,ac was so loud, the front desk receptionist was not friendly @ all, lacking customer service.

Hotel is okay since it's location is walking distance from frenchquarter, canal street and all nearby amenities, the place is clean, housekeeping's great, room too small,no parking lot @ all, have to pay for valet parking for 3 days.

Breakfast was good and the concierge was very helpful.
Gave me a smoking room. Charged 3 times normal fee. Room smelled. AC was on 50, according to the thermostat, but barely below 80 all night. Terrible nights sleep and after days of traveling, and 1 more to go, could really have used a good nights sleep

I would not go here again.

Location
Musty/mold smell to room, whirlpool tub did not work, lack of parking, thin walls

I stayed here for the location, unfortunately the room standards were more suited to a one star hotel. The small windowless room smelled musty, we could hear neighboring units conversations and the whirlpool tub did not work, though they offered to send someone up to fix it - while we were out. The bathroom was small enough that I hit my head on the door knob bending over to dry my feet - hard enough to have a dark mark on my forhead a week later. Have stayed at other hotels in historic buildings - they sealed their uncovered brick wall to prevent the musty/moldy smell caused by condensation settling into the brick and becoming nasty. As someone with mold allergies I pay attention to such things - this hotel did not seal their brick and left the wall uncovered for 'character' with the inevitable results of dank smells. ...read more

Location was fantastic and price was reasonable.
Room was small and there was minimal closet space.

Great location and good price. Room was on the small side but was clean and comfortable. Bed was nice. Requested wake up call never came.staff was helpful otherwise.

Charming. Clean. Beautiful updated decor. Perfectly themed for the location. Love how they incorporated the natural brick of the old building into the rooms.
lobby smelled like bad body odor.Jazlyn, front desk, did not make eye contact, smile or thank us for staying. She just tossed our check out receipt across the desk. Needs training in customer service. The rest of the staff seemed pleasant but the BO was bad

Wonderful, Hot breakfast. Pancake machine was a hit. Valet parking is expensive but you don't really have any choice. Prepare to pay upwards of
xxx dollars a night. Rooms are small but clean and all decor is new. Perfect spot on Canal St. and walking distance from French Quarter and Bourbon St. The room we stayed in had no windows, so it was really dark and unless you set alarm, you have no idea the sun came up. Makes for great sleeping but not early rising. The staff were pleasant but could use some work on front desk staff's customer service. When people check in they want to feel like you are glad they chose your hotel to stay. ...read more
