Hotel Guest Reviews of the Best Western Plus Downtown Vancouver

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Roberta was excellent, she called us after we got settled to make sure we approved of the room and to see if we needed anything.
Our linen was stained

Great location, awesome parking, great to have white spot attached. Will stay again

The location to Downtown and the upscale feel of this hotel. The penthouse with exercise equipment and spa is great.
Parking while reasonable at $20 per night is still pricy for hotel guests. This would persuade me to find other hotels a bit further away without the parking fees.

Hotel is great overall. Will likely stay again depending on whether I like to be in Downtown Vancouver again.

The staff was professional and warm.
Noisey, early morning and late evening traffic. The room was poorly arranged and cluttered. Unable to block out the light with drapes. We were unable to get a restful nights sleep.

Will not stay there in the future.

King size bed was terrific. Close to BC Place and Rogers Arena.

I stayed in the penthouse, which had a kitchen, dining and living room and a separate bedroom with bathroom. It was spacious and clean, although the furniture had seen better days. The mattress, linens and pillows were very comfortable.
My room was on a small corridor within three doors: one leading to the elevator area, another leading to the exercise room and another to the service room. It was very annoying to hear the doors constantly opening and closing. Staff not very helpful.

Pros - I stayed in the penthouse, which had a kitchen, dining and living room, a balcony and a separate bedroom with bathroom. It was spacious and clean, although the furniture had seen better days. The king size mattress, linens and pillows were very comfortable. Many walking distance restaurants on Davie Street. Cons - Far from the Convention Center. The staff was not very helpful in giving directions or touristic information. The common area was dark and not very welcoming. There were no vending machines and the garage does not give direct access to the elevator - you need to carry your luggage a flight of stairs before you reach them. ...read more

The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The free shuttle to downtown and to the cruise terminal was a great perk! I always felt safe In the area and there are plenty of restaurants, a 7-11, and a pharmacy within a few blocks.
There was a lot of traffic noise and the AC was extremely loud when it switched on and off.

Overall our stay was great. The staff was helpful and gave great advice on things to do in town before our cruise. The only bad thing that happened was on the last morning. We left at 3:40 am for the airport and asked the front desk the night before to order us a van taxi (and verified the request later that night), but a Prius ended up being ordered. Not good for the four of us and our bags. But we would stay there again next time. ...read more

Cleanliness of room and ease of access to most major attractions in Vancouver. Price was fair, and bathroom was better than many. Exterior is red brick and rather attractive.
Construction gave cement-dust clouds next door and huge trucks to dodge when entering garage. Yuppy neighborhood still has a thrift store and vagrants across from hotel.

The neighborhood is well-situated, but a trifle seedy where it's not yuppified.Cruise-ship tourists often fill hotel. The attached restaurant is just ok, and the parking levels and walkways look untidy in spots. Security involves frequent use of pass card to open doors, making some feel edgy. Granville bridge and Burrard are a few moments away, making UBC, Granville Island, the Skytrain, and Downtown easy places to visit. The staff is young but helpful, and bikes are free. It is a mixed bag and a workable choice for people not worried by the police presence nearby -- experienced in 2 visits. Priced well and clean, it may tempt you. ...read more

Perfect central location. Quiet (construction nearby is done). All staff extremely polite, prompt, helpful.
No

The block of Granville Street immediately outside the hotel is slightly seedy and a site for several homeless people to sleep, but this was minor. It appears that this area is undergoing improvement. We did not feel at all unsafe and were never panhandled. Southern exposure of the room gave a great view across the bridge. It would be a bonus if there were an espresso bar in the restaurant, but there is one a block away. Recent refurbishment of the hotel has sealed the windows, so soundproofing was excellent on this busy street. The ventilator tended to cycle fairly frequently and would be improved if one could direct the air flow away from the bed. This hotel seemed a great value. We'll definitely use it again. ...read more
