Hotel Guest Reviews of the Best Western Plus Bayside InnOur hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. This is by far one of the best locations for the price that was obtained using Priceline.com, without a doubt we will be doing this again. Thank you Priceline.com for the great prices, we would have paid much more for this hotel at this location without your service. And thank you Bayside BestWestern, your staff was incredible and the services and hotel met all expectations.

This hotel was in proximity to Little Italy and the Gaslamp Quarter, and was clean and fairly updated throughout. Breakfast (included) next door was great for a free buffet: scrambled eggs every day and alternating between ham and sausage for meats, and switching between pancakes and potatoes in the third chafing dish. Yogurt, Danish, breads and fresh fruit were available, along with the standard beverages. Staff complaints in reviews had me concerned, but we encountered nothing but helpful and friendly employees. Parking in the garage is $14 daily with in and out privileges, so seems worth it to me. The only non-stellar rating I provided was for the "public spaces" category. Smallish lobby really was good for sitting in chairs to wait for others in your party, but that's about it. The pool/hot tub area was clean but a bit dated. The wifi worked well in the rooms as well. We would stay here again. ...

I really like this hotel because of its excellent location in downtown San Diego, as well as free shuttle to and from airport. The rooms are good size and have standard motel amenities (microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator.) It usually is extremely clean and efficient. Unfortunately, this time there the level of cleanliness was slipping. (spots on carpet, stained and dirty desk chairs). Hopefully this was just a one-off experience because I really enjoy this hotel and hope to return soon. ...

It's not a bad hotel. It was clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. It's close to Little Italy and about a 20 minute walk to the Gas Lamp district. It is also a 4 minute walk to the Green Line trolly that stops at Seaport Village, the Convention Center, and Gas Lamp. The front desk was no help. Since it was Comic-con weekend, they made up a rule that only one car can park in their overnight structure. Parking overnight is usually $14, but they jacked the price up to $20 (still reasonable since it was Comic-con weekend). No where on the reservation did it state that we can only take one car. We offered to pay extra to park the second car, but they still declined. When we asked the girls where we can park the car overnight, they had no clue. My frustration is that if you make up a rule, then provide your guests with and alternative option. Other than that headache, it wasn't a bed experience. The complementary breakfast was pretty good with plenty of seating. Overall is wasn't a bad hotel, but I wouldn't stay there again. ...

You can't beat the location of this Best Western. Quick cab ride from the airport or from/to the cruise port. There is a shuttle service which we used from the hotel to the airport for a 7:30am departure. Shuttle arrived on-time and driver was super friendly and helpful even at that early hour. We did not use the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. We had not realised until we had crossed the pedestrian walkway from the airport terminal to the shuttle stop that the courtesy 'phones were back in the terminal. We took a cab instead, they line up directly across from the shuttle bus stopping area. Check-in was friendly and efficient and even though we had arrived mid morning, the gal was only too pleased to provide us with a room that was ready along with a discount voucher for the restaurant next door and a free breakfast coupon. Reception has lots of seating available and there is a computer with printer available for free use either to do your airport check-in or surf the web. Room was lovely. Chest of drawers, tv, coffee maker, fridge and microwave, a couple of chairs and office desk and very comfortable bed. Loved the q-tips and cotton buds in the bathroom along with other standard items. Service by everyone was wonderful. Super friendly staff, room attendants and maintenance guys too. The free-Wifi connection was excellent both in the room, on it's balcony and down by the pool. The pool, though small was very clean, lots of towels were available and has chairs, umbrellas, loungers and tables as well as a soda and beer/wine dispenser. As mentioned, the location is perfect. An easy to walk to the waterfront and there are plenty of shops, restaurants bars and cafes etc. in and around the hotel. The attached restaurant where the free breakfast (we didn't take the breakfast on this occasion) is served, provides excellent service a menu with lots of choices and the and the food was excellent and in very large portions! ...

This was a very noisy hotel. I could hear people day and night. TV kept going out and rooms wern't as clean as they should have been. I asked the maid to change the sheets and she said ok but when I got back she had only maid up the bed. there was a candy rapper in the bed from the night before.

Good free breakfast buffet

Great value. View. Well located near waterfront. Nice and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Nice breakfast buffet included. Hope to stay here again. $14.00 per day to park car, but likely common in these downtown locations.

My girlfriend and I came to this hotel for the weekend. We stayed Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. The room was an adequate size for us both, very simple. We stayed on the twelfth floor facing the bay and the view was amazing. The room was clean, bed was really comfortable. Everything worked, but there was one problem. There were bed bugs, and almost instantly we felt itchy. It had a few rash like symptoms, but they went away almost as soon as they appeared. But days later after coming back we both had what appeared to be mosquito bites, but didn't go away and we found out that bed bug bites sometimes appear a few days after being bitten. Other than that the location was another exceptional plus. We were able to walk to little Italy, to the bay, to the near by museums and attractions. The stay was great despite the bed bug incident.
