Overall the rooms were less welcoming than I had hoped. While it was obvious they had been refreshed some in recent years, the furniture was old and worn. The refrigerator and spare pillow were both disgustingly dirty and did not instill confidence in the rest of the room. The staff and restaurant were both highlights as they were kind and always helpful. While not cheap, this hotel is significantly cheaper than surrounding resorts. If you are looking for a reasonable price for a place to stay in Freeport, the Bell Channel Inn is a good choice. Just know going in that it is not fancy and you'll have to be flexible on the room condition. ...

The hotel is currently being spruced up, they have more to do. The furnishings are old and need to be replaced (bed, pictures, bed spreads, etc). For the price it is very adequate. It is a 15 minute walk to Port Lucaya Marketplace. The staff is 1st class, friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar had wonderful food, we ate most of our meals there. We didn't go in the pool, it was very clean but not heated...to cold. Larry & Dottie Feb 2013 ...

This hotel was scary at first, because the concierge on duty when I arrived was very cold and unhelpful. She was not at all sympathetic to the fact that I was a woman traveling alone and was not able to call home on the night I arrived because there was no phone service from there to the U.S. Also, the hotel was not as conveniently located as I had expected and they should have provided shuttle service to the Port Lucaya Marketplace, and beach, but they did not. Therefore, I had to use expensive cab services to get to and from the main tourist attraction. ...

31 unit motel. Staff , restaurant, bar, front desk, dive operator went out of there way to make you feel welcomed, and make your stay enjoyable. All rooms had balcony with chairs and table that over looked pool and inlet. Bugs were not a problem. Rooms have door on street side and balcony with cross ventilation , AC didn't have to be used if you didn't want to.
