Hotel Guest Reviews of the Atlantis - Paradise Island

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Everything needed was on the property.
Because everything is on the property, the prices are high! $9/beer?? Wow..

Literally a 20 minute walk back to the room from the water park. We were there 5 days, and still didn't see it all!

The grounds surrounding all the towers were very nice.
Staff was rude and very cold; rooms in the coral tower very worn and in dire need of updating; Wi-Fi, at a cost of 22.00 p/day was very intermittent. It would be up and down and up and down constantly. It was not worth the cost of 22.00 per day.

I enjoyed the lush grounds of this resort and everything was well marked. I would not stay here again, however due to the poor attitude on behalf of the majority of the staff, whether it was housekeeping, pool attendants or servers or hostesses within the various restaurants. They have become very complacent seeing as for now, they are the only big mega resort of its kind on Paradise Island. That will all change within a year when the Baha Mar is finished. ...read more

There was a lot to do all within the resort. It was well decorated and very pretty with lots to see. Great beaches and the slides were a lot of fun. The lazy river was great, lots of fun for all ages. Overall the resort was great for any age group.
They were dishonest with the bill. We found $20 of erroneous charges on our bill and about $200 of extra fees when we had been told upon check in (and on our priceline receipt which we showed them) that we had already paid all our taxes and fees.

The people in customer service upon checkout were unhelpful and dishonest. They kept changing their story and would not remove over $200 of extra and random charges on our account. Very dishonest and will not return to this place, which is a shame because other than that we had a great time. Pricing for everything from meals to activities was ridiculous though. $75 for a BUFFET? No meal cost less than $40 a person, including breakfast. Not a great deal when you already spend a lot for the trip. Bottom line the dishonesty and blatant lying from the hotel management made up my mind that I will never go back. I am very unhappy with the experience and have learned through other friends that they also experienced the same type of dishonesty from this hotel. What a terrible business model. ...read more

The pool was excellent. Location was great. The marina is really good
They charge for everything. It is excessive. Obnoxious is the right word. It is not the price, it is the way they do it. Value is horrible. No hot water during peak times. absolutely RUN down.

If you have never been to the resort or the Bahamas check it out BUT BEWARE. It is big and beautiful. That being said read the reviews and what I have to say below for consideration: I have stayed at Atlantis twice now and would not have gone back a second time. My girlfriend wanted to go to Atlantis for her birthday so I couldn't say no. When you read most of the reviews you will see the complaints people have are petty or about the "rude girl at the counter" obviously you can not rate a multi million dollar resort based on one person. Remember, you are visiting a foreign country (unless you are Bahamian then you aren't reading this) so you need to understand their culture is slow and there is no hurry to get around. There is a 15% gratuity added to the bill and I am certain the hotel takes the majority of that. What this does is make the customer feel like they are paying a gratuity and the employee feel like the customers are cheap. The hotel should be ashamed if they do take a cut of the gratuity because the poor service is most likely a result. Everything is extra and I do mean everything. THE RESORT FEE IS $43 A DAY. Wi-fi is $30 a day. A meal for two people in one of their restaurants (none of which are good) will run you 100/person. Our expectations were low because I have been before so it did not bug us. It you are looking for a nice hotel with great amenities and service this is not for you. I have stayed at the One and Only Beach club down the road and it is better. The water park is excellent and the dolphin cay is priced astronomically high but fun as well. My trip cost me 4800 dollars after everything for 5 nights. I spend 1500 at the resort, 2900 for airfare, hotel, transfers, and the resort fee and an additional 400 for various. Consider the Comfort Suites as opposed to the mid range towers (Coral, Beach, Royal towers) the value is there. Mentally prepare to spend big $ at Atlantis for a sub par resort. ...read more

Hotel gives you access to All the pools and aqua adventure. Hotel rooms are very basic. They are too pricey. Be prepared to pay utility charges at the end of the stay. Do not stay at this hotel more than 3-4 days. That is enough to explore.
Too expensive for everything. USD X 2 or 3 times the USA equivalent for everything including food/water/etc. Remember to pay everything in cash so that you can keep a track of what you spent. Do not use credit cards they keep on charging extra .

Location is very nice. Lots of activities to do. Do bargain at the beach for jetski and other stuffs. Go to all the pools and visit all the locations. Towels are free and lots of places to visit. Cheapest rooms are at Beach Towers. Rooms are not so nice, very basic just like holiday inn. Do arrange for taxi from airport Costs $52 round trip for 2 from Majestic Tours. Use Ferry from Paradise Island Ferry Terminal to go to downtown for about $8 round trip / person. Do visit Aquarium & Casino. Movie theater is nice and free (at Beach Towers). Do use the Credit given to you on Food/drinks before checkout. Do not shop here. Shop in downtown where you can bargain at half the price. Eat in the Marina Village outside of Hotel, its little less expensive. Do not use pay phones to make international calls, they are $40 / per call. Better to activate International Roaming at around $2.39 / min plus 20 for month from ATT or TMobile. Do visit Bluelagoon island from Dolphinencounters.com. Only take beach day for 59 bucks which includes food. You can see dolphins up close there instead of paying 135 at Dolphin cay. Other than this no casino. Do not visit Sheraton / Wydham because they are under construction until 2015. Do try Cable Beach if you want to hang around and do some beach activities. Use Buses from Downtown to roam around the Bahama island. It cost 1.50 or 1.25 per person only one side trip. Also they drop you off the Atlantis Paradise Island Bridge which you can walk over Buses 1 & 7A. ...read more

The outdoor facilites and waterpark.
Resturant expense.

Quality of food compared to price is poor. Service at outside beach bar was poor. Waited for over a half hour for a drink and sandwich.

We loved that there were pools and tanks full of fish and animals. We were so pleasantly surprised by how well the aquarium spaces and the animals were taken care of. Everything was so clean. The staff was all pleasant.
Mandara Spa-myvisit was only mediocre, lounge chairs uncomfortable, can't lay down on them comfortably. woman came down &called for anyone who had a 4PM appointment instead of the person I had an appt with-very impersonal. the massage was rushed not calming

Love the Dale Chihuly glass artwork. And really enjoyed making a glass tile. The staff in the pottery studio was so nice and helpful. Would recommend Atlantis to couples and families. There is something for everyone. We will definitely come back. We loved it!
