Hotel Guest Reviews of the Ashland Motel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

It was more of a low-end hotel... than what we thought. Room very small.. but OK for us. The outside appearance could be more attractive. Manager OK...

The price was what we wanted to pay. Nice Vizio TV.
The desk clerk was not very friendly. Had to ask for ice, extra pillows. I thanked him and he didn't respond. Very old hotel with no improvements in decor.

I would probably never stay there again. Very old and dumpy. Didn't feel like paying close to---  for a one night stay at a more reputable hotel chain. The desk clerk(owner?) was not very friendly. Would look for someplace else next time.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Old and run down. In need of remodeling. Very small tv. Total lack of decor. Was under the impression there was an outdoor pool and there was not. Motel bore no resemblance to the in line photo. Didn't even think I was in the right place.

Overpriced for the condition of the property and the lack of amenities.

The location
Cleanliness is apparently a struggle here

The room was disgusting. I tried to walk barefoot but my feet got sticky. I tried walking around in my socks but they ended up black on the bottoms. The sink was cleaned but not behind it.

Good location--Easy to access to places.
The room is dirty and accommodations are terrible. The hotel does not provide ice, shampoo, hair dryer, and only has one coffee pouch. There's no tray in the shower to hold soap. Soap has to put on the shower floor. Wifi doesn't work. A bad experience.

The bathroom needs major improvement--especial the shower. More accommodations, such as morning coffee, would be helpful. One little single pouch of coffee is not meet most customer's needs. The cleanness of the room also need some attention.

This motel was very out-dated. It seemed that nothing had been changed about it since the 1970's. The bathroom door stuck so badly we could hardly open it. The outside door was very hard to close and we never felt it was secure.

It smelled like smoke even though it was suppose to be a non-smokers room. The fixtures were so old and cracked they seemed dirty. The mattress was very old. If it hadn't been so late and we hadn't been so tired we would have moved on and asked for our money back. Also, the attendant kept tacking on extra fees from what we thought we would pay. He was hard to understand so we weren't sure what that was all about. Once again, we had been driving for hours and it was late so we felt we had no choice since we didn't know anything about the area or other hotels. We really felt this was one of the worst, and most expensive motels we have ever stayed at. And we're not used to extremely nice hotels either, we usually stay in the midrange for price and quality. There is no other way to explain it, we would not recommend staying at this place. ...read more

The location was the only positive about this motel.
Very disappointing motel.

I would stay away from this motel. Rooms are very outdated and not clean. A thick layer of dust (and who knows what else) on window and door trim. None of the windows lock. It was warm and A/C was not cutting it. Had to pay $5 dollars extra per day to have the rooms serviced, which consisted of replacing the one towel I used. The bed linnen was not change (and the bed was not even made for that matter), the garbage was not emptied and I'm sure the room was not cleaned at all. The TV did work but very small screen, but the room was not big enough for a much bigger one. There was free wifi but unless you were within about 25 feet of the office, it was unusable. I would avoid this motel. I will spend little more and stay somewhere else from now on. ...read more
