The staff was polite and helpful; was able to communicate in English
The lobby is a bit old and not very impressive. The TV is also old, could not get it to turn on.

It's located quite far from the airport and no shuttle servvice

The hotel had wonderful rooms, and a very good location (8 of 10).
The location was great, but an uphill walk to the Blue Mosque that would be hard for older people, impossible for some

Very nice hotel. For those 55+ and immobile it would not be a good location. It is a 10-15 minute, mostly uphill, walk to the Blue Mosque. I likely will stay there again the next time in Istanbul.

Very helpful staff, especially Berk & Namik, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast on the balcony, close to main attractions including Ayasofya, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, etc.
None

It was very pleasant staying at Armada Istanbul Old City Hotel. First of all, this hotel is close to main attractions in Sultanahmet area (most attractions within 10 min. walk distance). Their free breakfast was also awesome. The breakfast place was the balcony/top of the hotel. One side, you can see the sea and the other side, you can see the Ayasofya and Blue Mosque. Food itself was also great. Their free Wi-Fi made me happy and rooms and amenities were also good. Finally, I should mention very friendly and helpful staff, especially Berk and Namik, they made me feel comfortable during my stay and they also allow me a late check-out when I asked it due to my late flight schedule. I will definitely stay at Armada Hotel again when I have a chance to visit Istanbul in the future. ...read more

Great staff/ clean hotel/ great location/ awesome pillows/ variety in breakfast is excellent
Small rooms/ Poor and very old furniture/ same breakfast menu every day/ very limited in-room food menu/ room service ends at 23:30

The hotel has great staff. They are always smiling and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance from the Topkapi, the Blue Mosque, and the Ajia Sophia. The Grand Bazaar is within walking distance for healthy people. The food menu is very limited for in-room service and there is no service after 23:30. We had two connecting rooms because it was a family vacation. Unfortunately, we had our room just under the terrace. The hotel held two wedding parties when we were there and the music was very loud. The hotel has a policy of playing music between Thursday and Saturday with a very loud music so we had a real difficulties with our three daughters at sleeping time. The hotel is in an very old neighborhood and you may need to get back to the hotel by sunset, however, the area seemed safe. Personally, the hotel did not match my expectation as per the start rating. I can give a 3 stars in maximum. I never intend to stay in this hotel if I am to go to that area again. I tried to cover as much as possible and I believe I was fair in my review. ...read more

Clean
Expected more of a 4 start hotel.

Not a bad hotel but I am sure you can find better in the area for the same price range. We stayed in the second floor and the noise form the restaurant upstairs (terrace) began early and ended around 11 pm every day. The rooms are OK, to bath only shower but clean. Service cleaned the room but did not changed our dirty coffee cups. Checkout was bad as the Guy in the front desk charged my credit card twice.I Had to complaint but they fixed it. I wonder what would had happened if I had not check my bill in detail before leaving. ...read more

Staff went above and beyond. Beer while we waited for our room, great concierge with useful tips and help to book things.. Location was absolutely perfect for sightseeing. Bathrooms modern, towels nice. Bed and linens comfortable. Breakfast was perfect.
Could use a few more amenities in the room- that would be expected at a 4 star hotel - shampoo (better), conditioner, lotion, shower cap, full length mirror, and an iron.

Staff went above and beyond. Beer while we waited for our room, great concierge with useful tips and help to book things. Recommended us to go to the Sauda club which was amazing- just what we needed for a more relaxing non-tourist day. They am Our friends stayed at Kaylon hotel very near by, they had better views but paid 4 times the price and their service wasnt as good. They made me a birthday cake and delivered it to our room while we were out. It was so delicious and appreciated. Location was absolutely perfect for sightseeing and for getting to the nightlife in Taksim. Bathrooms modern, towels nice. Bed and linens comfortable. Breakfast was perfect ~great food and nice views! Could use a few more amenities in the room- that would be expected at a 4 star hotel - shampoo (better), conditioner, lotion, shower cap, full length mirror, and an iron. Overall we loved Istanbul and this hotel was part of the reason why. Would recommend. ...read more
