Nice breakfast. Owner very kind and helpful regarding local attractions
Older facility, but very clean and nicely maintained.

Nice place; nice value.

The rooms were clean.
The staff was very unfriendly.

The staff, especially the owner, were EXTREMELY unpleasant. The owner charged us an additional $18 saying that we were to pay for the % that priceline takes out from his rate. He made it a big deal to make sure I knew that by him and offering the rate he does and priceline taking their share, he does not meet his profit margin. This shouldn't be something that any paying guest should have to hear. Furthermore, it's very misleading to and in bad taste to add on charges after locking in an agreement where the price is clearly marked. I would never stay here again. more

Price line said the price would be $xx plus taxes, when we got there we were charged $xx, apparently there's 20% tax.

Staying here was a big blend of weird and awkward. My wife and I checked in, and were relaxing in our room, we wanted to inquire about the hot tub that we read about. We asked the owner and he said he needs at least 8 hours notice because it's a wood burning hot tub, (I remember reading that, and had no problem waiting until the next day) Then he proceeds to tell us how he only fires up the hot tub 15-20 times per year because "wood isn't cheap" and he has to chop the wood himself. First, the Inn is a wooded area, there's free wood everywhere. Second, he made us feel guilty for wanting to use an advertised Amenity, like it was an inconvenience to him. The next morning we went for our breakfast (when we checked in he NEEDED to know exactly when we would come in for breakfast for some reason). There was fruit on the table, he brought us a pitcher of coffee, and asked if we wanted scrambled eggs. He then brought out what looked like a single scrambled egg for each of us. We ate it and breakfast was over. Later, we were in our room relaxing and the owner comes and knocks on our door, he asks if he can clean the room, which struck me as VERY odd since we were still in the room and just wanted to relax. But we let him in and he cleaned the bathroom, he asked if we wanted him to make the bed (which we were laying in at the time), I said no, and he left. The next day he came to our room again and asked if he could clean it, this time when he was leaving he complained about how humid our room was and asked if we could open a window. He asked if we could open a window as he was leaving because HE thought it was too hot in the room. Check out is by 11, we checked out at 7:30. We really wanted to leave. more

The lobby was cute and the breakfast seemed nice.
The shower was dirty and outdated and the heat didn't work.

The hotel had some of the charm you typically get from a Vermont establishment. The gentleman who I believed was the owner was very friendly upon check in and check out. The breakfast selection was impressive with European flair but we never took advantage of it. There was no working heat in the room but we did discover a space heater in the closer - not ideal but it did the trick for our early October stay. I wouldn't want to stay in the same room in the winter though. This place is ok for a night or two but not for a long vacation. more

It was in Vermont.
It was totally outdated and tired.

Reminded us of the Bates Motel; pretty rundown and shabby.

hospitality and outstanding European breakfast

I was looking for a budget friendly place to stay at and found a real gem. The owner was so pleasant, he kept the place spotless and made a fabulous breakfast. There was a European hot tub (no bubbles) fired by wood that was welcome after a day of skiing at Stratton. I would definitely return during leaf peeping season. There is an inground pool for summer use too.

It was quaint and the owner seemed knowledgeable. He was polite and friendly. Decor and architecture of room was nice. Free breakfast - homemade.
I wish they had a bathtub and not just a shower stall. The pillows were uncomfortable.

It was a quaint place with homey comfortable surroundings. You could adjust the heat and you felt like you were in your own little house. It had a bit of the basics with some luxury, i.e. minibar. Free breakfast was available - homemade. The owner was nice and seemed knowledgeable. The main office was attractive. The place was not spotless but generally clean. My little child wasn't used to not having a tub and the pillows were not comfortable but the rest of the room was fine. I would recommend it. more
