Hotel Guest Reviews of the Americas Best Value Inn StamfordOur hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. My expectations are pretty low for 1 star hotels, usually I find they are fine, just a little run down or maybe in an out of the way area. However here, the issues were d/t (presumably) management. 1) No WIFI despite it being advertised. The password never worked & the stafff just angrily yelled the password at me everytime I told them I couldn't connect. They were never interested in any other solution. 2) Nothing in the room with hotel info... like the address, check in/out times, local delivery places, etc. I thought this was standard? Often times that info is useful, and I could have used it here but it didn't exist. After being yelled at over the WIFI I didn't ask either. 3) Unbearably hot in the lobby & common area. I'm talking sweat rolling down my back while standing still. In addition, the breakfast area had a sign to eat there, not in your room. No reason why... um, I didn't comply. Not gonna eat somewhere where I'm sweating without even moving. 4) Regarding breakfast, it was *dirty* lots of crumbs everywhere & spilled waffle mix, juice, milk. The butter & cream cheese were just set out in That Hot Room with no refrigeration or even on ice so who knows how soon it will spoil. Again, they ask you to eat here but...why? There were like three small, sticky tables pushed very close together. No thank you. I'm not a child, I took my stuff back to my room. 5) Finally... and the hotel probably can't help this much... lots of other guests standing around outside of their rooms drinking & smoking. All the while cars sped through the parking lot squealing their tires late at night. Overall it was not the least bit restful or comfortable. I've read reviews about hotels with shady characters & rolled my eyes. Hmmm... this one I gotta say the people hanging outside my room & giving me the shifty eye made me very uncomfortable. Overall, this place was MUCH more run down & shabby than the pictures indicate. ...
