Hotel Guest Reviews of the American Inn Ozark

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

It was very close to numerous antique stores which were great.
There was no AC in the hallways. The rooms are very outdated. There were holes in the curtains & linens, the carpeting was frayed, and the pillows were flat as pancakes.

Will not stay here again.

A wonderful breakfast was available with a waffle maker with a delicious batter and an electric skillet to fry eggs. Donuts, toast, cereal and fruit were, also, available.
There was no telephone in the room. They did not provide me with an itemized statement of my charges. My final bill was more than expected, even with the added tax.

The hotel is located just off of Hwy. 65 on a main road; however, it sits in an area much lower than the road, so it is not visible from the road. It has a very small outdoor pool that is well-maintained.

Location.
The whole room smelled strongly.

There is nowhere to even start. The minute we opened the door to our room, we were hit with a wave of stench that was enough to make a person gag. I decided it was best to shower with my flip-flops on, but when I got in to bed, the clean feeling left me immediately, as the bed smelled strongly of another person's body (odor). But that still doesn't account for the mildewed smelling cloth shower curtain, and the obviously unwashed bed linens. I will say that the owner/manager was very pleasant, but that is about all that I can say. Also, if you're used to the usual standard amenities, like a hair-dryer, iron, coffee maker, etc. etc., you better pack your own. You won't find them in this room. Your best bet is to stay at the Days Inn across the street. ...read more
