The room was fine. I went in the room first and it was ok. I next went to the "office". It was a real mess. There was lots of junk scattered on the floor. There are shelves against the wall full of stuff. Half the space seems to be a kitchen and is a real mess. There is a bad odor. If I had seen the office first and not the room I would have been very leary about staying there. Since I saw the room first, I decided it would probably be ok to stay there. I was only there for a few hours (just to sleep) so I can't say anything about the other amenities. Just stay out of the "office", it makes a very bad impression. ...

Beautiful quiet location just minutes from Volcano National Park main entrance. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. There were fresh baked muffins and fresh fruit placed out in the kitchenette for breakfast. The husband and wife owners were very friendly and accommodating. We weren't going to be around for the regularly scheduled lava tube tour, so they made arrangements to take us at a special time. Very quiet and peaceful location, just far enough from the highway to not hear any traffic, but still close enough to make getting around easy. Tall vehicles or roof rack users, note that the entrance has some low hanging branches over the road. The lava tube tours on the premises was fantastic if not a little sketchy. I liked the complete natural feel of being in there since there are no improvements to the tube to make it easier. Be sure you have good footwear and long pants as you will be climbing over sharp rocks in almost complete darkness. The only source of light is from flashlights and head/helmet lights. If you have any mobility issues, you may want to pass on the tour and check out the Thurston lava tube in Volcano national park instead. We did both and found both to be exciting in their own regard. We only stayed one night so didn't have time to use many of the other facilities available. ...

Met our expectations, was a nice place to stay for a night. We stayed only to see the volcano so it was perfect, long term stay I don't think we would have liked because the other rooms were very noisy (walls thin), so we were woken up by children (we like kids, but 6am on vacation was too early). Bring you own breakfast food. The muffins provided were good but not enough to quality as breakfast. We'd stay again and recommend the hotel for viewing the volcano only. ...

This is not an hotel, or bed and breakfast, it had no facilities the breakfast was packets of instant oatmeal, and instant coffee, no milk or cream, and stale muffins from the day before. The room was clean, the hot tub filthy. We were very very disappointed. The owner seemed nice enough, but this is more like a hostel and was not well represented. We ended up booking another bed and breakfast, which had fireplaces in the room and full breakfast and clean hot tub and great common rooms. ...
