Hotel Guest Reviews of the Chaydon Sathorn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Good price, nice staff, decent location, nice and comfortable room.
Shower temperature is inconsistent, switching from cold to hot often. Wifi is spotty. Nasty sewer smell in the courtyard area. Staff speaks little English. Requests for service were very slow.

This hotel is pretty old but well-renovated and cute. The room and bathroom were clean, good size, pleasantly designed and comfortable. Internet access was spotty but usable. The hotel staff were very friendly, especially those working in the overpriced and not-very-good restaurant downstairs. They try very hard to accommodate you but they don't speak much English. Communication barrier exists. The hotel itself as a perfunctory exercise center with the absolute minimum number of equipments, I guess it's better than nothing. Laundry charges were high so go get your laundry done at DAD's laundry (look it up), which charges 30 baht per kilo. Although this hotel was not close to any of the mass transit stops, everything was within a 15 minutes walking distance. On the down side, the shower temperature fluctuates inconsistently, a HUGE minus since showering often is necessary in this hot and polluted city. There's little the staff can do to rectify the problem since the issue may be structural plumbing. Sewer smell in the center courtyard can be pretty nasty and overpowering and sometimes enters the room via the windows. I would only stay here again as a last resort. The bad shower situation is a deal breaker for me. ...read more
