Hotel Guest Reviews of the Albergo Cannon d'Oro

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The view from our room was great. Rooms were nice.
The shower is very badly planned. The curtains need to be longer at least. Water kept going all over the bathroom.

A great place for the price: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! 300 meters from Piazza Gramsci bus station, not fancy, but clean and warm. Sweet folks at the desk, rooms were spare but spotless. Center of old Siena, perfect for coming/going, Wifi works well!
For an American who loves a warm breakfast, caffe' and a packaged croissant were not what I craved, but I believe this to be the case at most places you can stay; colazione (breakfast) not an important meal in Italy, did not detract from my stay.

Loved it. Thank you Priceline and Cannon D'Oro! I was traveling to Italy by myself for an Italian language course, and I was nervous about the in-country travel, and navigating the city. Because of the hotel location, it was all perfect and easy. Albergo Cannon D'oro was so wonderful and convenient: from aeroport in Florence, an easy bus ride to Siena took me to Piazza Gramsci, literally 300 meters from the Hotel. This is not a fancy place, but was nice, clean and warm (many buildings are not warm in March, in a city craved from stone...) :) Lovely staff, very helpful. Abundant hot water pressure, which one doesn't always find in Italy. It is in the middle of the medieval walled city, so for comings and goings to school, attractions, art, Cathedral, shopping (a great gourmet deli/pizzeria (wish I could remember the name but has a great wall of windows, the Restaurant Biondi (great minestrone), and a modern grocery market were 1, 1, and 3 minute walks from the door). Walking to the Piazza Il Campo and the Duomo were 5-10 minutes. Literally everything you wanted to see in old Siena was within a 15 minute walk radius. Via Di Citta (main walking/shopping strada and the way to Il Campo and Duomo) was 30 yards away. (BTW, don't take the train to Siena, take the bus, there are direct routes much faster than train and the train leaves you outside the city and with a 20 minute walk uphill to the city center. I would definetly stay here again. Not fancy but I felt that the money I saved on not having a fancy hotel justified a bit more shopping, and besides, I was hardly in the room except to sleep. Perfect for an economical price. ...read more

Great location. Room was sparse but clean. Free internet that worked.
No problems

Clean hotel and room. We'd stay there again, for sure. Breakfast was adequate, very friendly service, clean room without much decoration, but comfortable.

Excellent staff, location, accommodation, good breakfast, over all good feel.
Internet only works in the lobby area.

knew about this hotel in advance from a previous study abroad trip to Siena (they have some suite rooms that have a full kitchen etc that my friends were living in for 5 weeks) so I knew it would be a great place to come back during my weekend trip to Siena, excellent hotel, GREAT location, fair price, would recommend to anyone traveling to Siena, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, clean spacious rooms, love love love. ...read more

Clean, comfortable, affordable, and in a great location!

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful in suggesting restaurants and giving directions. Our room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, only a 2 minute walk to the bus stop and a 5 minute walk to Il Campo. We would definitely stay there again!
