Hotel Guest Reviews of the Abbey Court Hotel - Hyde Park

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The best part of this hotel was not being in the hotel at all. It was so dirty, cramped and our only window faced an outside storage area.
Where do I begin. This hotel first off had some of the most unfriendly staff I have ever met. I have stayed in 100s of hotels and this is by far the worst. It was small, dimly lit, no windows worth mentioning. And they offer no services at all.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were checked in by a very unfriendly gentleman who brushed us off quicker than I have ever seen. He gave no directions how to get to our room other then go to the elevator and go down (by the way we were on the ground level so our room was in the basement). After finally finding our room it was cramped to say the least. I have stayed in compact rooms before but I couldnt even fit shoulder length in the shower. The pillows were barely existant and the TV didn't work. The room also had a window facing what I can only explain as a storage locker for all the hotels excess equipment, I didn't even want to open the window as it smelled out there. After our first night of sleep we woke up to the sound of the cleaners and the managers yelling in the hallways at full volume which was around 8am in the morning so that ended the sleeping in portion of the day. We left the hotel you have to turn in your hotel key to the staff. They will keep it and give it back to you at your return and not once did they ask for any ID when we returned which made me feel very secure in leaving my things. When leaving for the day we asked for directions which a nicer lady gave but did not offer any maps or advice as to what we needed to get around for the day. When we got back we found our room door was not locked and the window in the room was wide open to the smelly storage area. I went outside and checked to see if the storage area door was locked which it wasn't so that meant not only was our room door not locked but anyone could of walked into this storage area and climbed through our window and get into our belongings. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever if they were going to London... Just stay away from Abbey Court Hotel. ...read more

It was close to Paddington Station and was clean and fresh looking.
How many stairs and nooks and turns you had to make to get to your room. The hallways were narrow and it was somewhat of a nuisance to pull your bags around to get to room.

They had a really nice lounge area where you could sit and relax. Overall nice hotel. Staff were not as accommodating as would have liked - some of them didn't know how to get to places.

Excellent location just a short 3min. walk from Paddington Station with easy access to several Underground lines and stations. Easy walk through the park to Harrod's.
Bathroom was so tiny you literally had to leave it to wash up. No air conditioning, so prepare to perspire in the summer.

Typical old-fashioned British hotel.clean, safe, well situated, but not big on amenities or comfort. It's a place to sleep and leave your bags. Wifi available for a fee. You can easily carry (or drag) your bags from Paddington. No need for a taxi as it is literally one block away from the main entrance.

The room was very tiny. It had one window that opened onto a courtyard. We had to beg for a small fan. At night the hotel staff were fighting and smoking in the courtyard right outside our window.
